A two day thinktank organised by the City of Bunbury and run by independent consultants has provided a rich harvest of ideas for City planners.
Three sessions over two days were well attended and participants were asked to focus on ideas for an iconic event that would make Bunbury residents feel proud. The who, what, where, when and why of the event were represented by separate tables, and participants cycled between them every fifteen minutes.
By the end of the sessions there were yards of carefully written butcher’s paper representing a huge scroll of ideas and opinions, and participants were given six votes to share out amongst the suggested activities. Organisers reported that the votes from each session clustered around several similar ideas, indicating a high level of consensus between the independent groups of participants.
The outcome will be drafted into a report by the consultants to be presented to Council as a first stage in what may be a three year cycle of design and preparation.
