We are well aware that the use of mobile phones in certain circumstances can be dangerous, either to ourselves or to others.
There are placards in Hospitals, on aeroplanes and in road houses warning us to switch off our mobile phones. But as one young woman in Bunbury discovered, the list should not end there.
While travelling into the Bunbury CBD by bus recently, she decided to make use of her time by following up a telephone lead she had been given for a Driving Instructor. She called the number, which was promptly answered.
But after explaining the purpose of her call, the other party explained that they were busy driving, and offered to call her back later. She apologised for the inconvenience of her call and readily accepted.
It was only then she realised that all her fellow passengers were giving her scornful glances. This puzzled her at first, until she realised that the person who had taken her call was the driver of the bus on which they were travelling.
