Landcorp have announced the winning design for the South West in their REAL Challenge, held with the aim of finding innovative solutions to issues of affordability and responsiveness to climate in house design.
The design criteria called for a three bedroom, two bathroom home with a minimum six-star energy efficiency rating, with minimal mechanical heating and cooling, and which took advantage of natural ventilation.
The winning entry for the South West was submitted by Copraxis Architects and Samson Homes. The winning design will now be built on land provided by Landcorp in Buckingham Way, Collie.
The acronym REAL stands for “Regional Environmental Affordable Living”.
