Koombana Jetty Opens

The new Koombana jetty was opened today by Regional Development Minister Brendon Grylls, the jetty provides the infrastructure required for bigger boats to moor in  Bay.

“Previously there was no public jetty for bigger boats to moor against in Koombana Bay, limiting access to the shore,” Mr Grylls said.

“This new jetty will provide up to 48m of mooring area, improving access to the popular Koombana Bay beach.

“It is expected this new facility will also be used during events such as sailing regattas.”

Supported with a $240,000 grant from the State Government, through the South West Development Commission, the jetty is managed by the Koombana Bay Sailing Club.

“I would like to acknowledge the efforts of volunteers in making this project a reality,” the Minister said.
