Adam Road Primary in Bunbury has won the State Primary Cross Country Championship for the tenth year in a row. The school won against students from 80 public and private schools across Western Australia.
The championships were held at McGillivray Oval in Mount Claremont and involved students from years 5 to 7 competing over courses from 1,500m to 2,500m in length.
Teachers at the school attribute the student’s success to their dedicated approach to training. Three times a week the 30 students from the school completed long distance runs interspersed with sprints and aerobic exercises. They also trained with an athletics coach once a week after school.
