The greater Bunbury region will soon benefit from the construction of a new community and sporting pavilion at the Leschenault Recreation Park in Australind following $2,821,312 Royalties for Regions funding. Regional Development Minister Brendon Grylls said the Country Local Government Fund (CLGF) supported project was significant for the region by servicing the region’s needs and provide a long-lasting legacy.
“The Leschenault Recreation Park is one of only two facilities in the greater Bunbury region and attracts players and participants from an area with a population of about 35,000 people,” Mr Grylls said. “The new multi-purpose pavilion will complement the recent construction of an additional 13.5ha of sporting fields, providing a first-rate experience for the 19 local and regional groups that regularly use the facility.
The complex, will include change rooms and toilet facilities; a kitchen/kiosk; store room; function rooms suitable to cater for local and regional sporting groups and other community groups.
